Classes For Beginners

Om Shala Yoga offers several ways to get started with yoga.

Level 1 classes: Designed to give everyone the time and support to learn basic postures, alignment, and breathing techniques. Perfect for brand-new students or for more practiced students who want to revisit the basics. No flexibility or experience required!

Level 1 $7 Community Class: A quality, half-price class with teacher-trainee Meka Hunt(Mon), Sarah Van Wesep(Wed), Tanya Hunt (Fri), and Jessica Stokes (Sun).

Restorative Yoga: For everyone, no flexibility or experience required! This practice guides you into gentle poses, most of which are done on your back and supported by folded blankets under knees, shoulders, etc. Allows the body to open and relax easily and naturally. No sweat, no effort – just extreme relaxation and gentle stretching. (This class will not offer as much instruction on alignment; focus is more on the relaxing benefits of yoga.)

Gentle Yoga: A friendly introduction (or re-introduction) to  yoga. Clear, simple instructions and plenty of time to breathe and get into and out of postures.
