So happy to share with all of you this simple offering on the gifts of a dedicated personal yoga practice from one of our most experienced teachers at the studio, Liz Heffernan. I resonate so strongly with her simple message-- it is the showing up, the simplicity of continuing to try to choose to practice in a way which truly makes you feel better, even when it is difficult--that is a simple gift which bears incredible fruit. Our community is here to encourage you to keep showing up.Read More
Welcome to the brand new Om Shala site and blog! This project has been in the works for most of 2018, and I have poured my heart and soul into creating a virtual space that is easy to look at, easy to use and offers inspiration, guidance, convenience and accurate information.
From now on, you'll find our monthly newsletter in Blog form, as well as in your inbox. We'll also be featuring articles from our instructors, astrology forecasts, workshop presenter profiles and more.
For now, here's a few bits of important information for the coming Fall.
Changes To Pricing, Special HSU Deals and a Fresh New Fall Class Schedule
I have spent the last year listening, watching, practicing, teaching and talking with students and community members. I continue to hear people say they are struggling to financially support their commitment to yoga practice. I strongly believe that the practices that are taught within Om Shala walls are capable of radical healing and transformation--of truly improving our physical health, our inner lives, and as a result our families, communities and in turn the entire world. This has two simple implications.
Knowledge of Yogic Practices is extremely valuable
All people deserve access to knowledge which may reduce their suffering.
The first tells us we should support our healers when and how we can, so that they are able to continue dedicating their lives to pursuing and transmitting this knowledge, which has such benefit for us all. The second tells us we need to do everything we can to make participation in our community affordable. For this reason we are choosing to radically lower our membership prices. We believe that those who commit to support our community should be rewarded with a simple monthly expense that doesn't cause hardship.
- Auto Bliss: Our Recurring Monthly Unlimited Yoga and Sauna Membership is now $99/month
- One month of Unlimited Yoga is now $108
- In September, New Students can try 30 days of Unlimited Yoga and Sauna for $30
- In September, Try a new Limited Month Pass: Class 2x/week and Unlimited Sauna for $60
- HSU Students, Staff and Faculty have access to discounted semester passes and $10 drop ins
- Tuesdays HSU ID holders can drop in for class or sauna for $5
We hope this gives you all more freedom to practice self-care and be with us in community.
The new fall schedule is now online and kicking off tomorrow. Be sure to check it out, there are some shifts to existing classes and new class options!
and finally, we hope that you will come by our booth on Wellness Row at the North Country Fair Sep 15-16 on the Plaza in Arcata. We'll have live demonstrations, free classes, kids yoga, sound healing, giveaways and discounts and more.
I look forward to hearing your reflections on the new site!
With so much love,
