Weekend Workshop with Samantha Akers
One on one stretching and hands-on work can be just what is called for with privates and those with limited mobility. Students can greatly benefit from these practices when needing rehab from surgery or injury, as a way to help them build strength and bring awareness to their body, safely.
We will discuss biomechanics in yoga and movement, the differences between a stretch and a stress as well as explore the research on what is truly needed for an injury to heal.
This weekend, we will begin to work with the shoulder girdle, injuries, and alignment for safe practices.
All weekends include morning meditation or breath work, as well as Buddhist philosophy and/or lecture for the weekend's topic.
8:30-12:00pm Friday, at Samantha’s home space
1:00-5:00pm Friday, at Om Shala

These spots will fill quickly.
