Join Kelly O’Roke for a 5 part series this fall for an introduction to pranayama practice which interweaves yoga philosophy and terminology in an easy to digest, community-centered way.
We will be meeting for five Sunday evening sessions, broken into two parts:
Exploring the Winds and Preparing the Body to Sit
Two Sunday Night Sessions: September 29 and October 6: 5-7pm
Introduction to the philosophy of the subtle anatomy and practices for clearing and preparing the body for more precise breathing practices. This course will include movement. Variations and modifications for all bodies will be presented.
Foundations of Pranayama
Three Sunday Night Sessions: Nov 10, 17 & 24: 5-7pm
This three part series will build from basic breath control practices into an individually supported and mentored pranayama practice, incorporating important elements of philosophy and guidance on building a home practice. It is recommended that students attend the first series or public asana (posture) class with Kelly before enrolling. You can find her Mondays at 5:30pm and Wednesdays at 6pm.
