Caravan to Mysore, India: Yoga Philosophy Retreat and Conference

unlimited semester (1).png

Have you ever wanted to see India for yourself and learn first-hand from Sanskrit scholars who have studied yoga in depth, in their own cultural context, for a lifetime?

Mysore, India is the birthplace of modern yoga. In the wake of the documentary film Mysore Yoga Traditions, some of the foremost scholars in Mysore have agreed to collaborate to create a unique opportunity for the international yoga community. In today's yoga world many foreign yoga practitioners would like to feel connected with an ancient tradition through Yoga. We believe that learning the philosophy of yoga directly from the elders of Mysore can help us come closer to this tradition.

This is a unique opportunity to travel to Mysore, South India with a seasoned yogi guide, Joey Paz, to attend the Mysore Yoga Traditions International Retreat and Conference. In Mysore, we will join with senior Ashtanga instructor Andrew Eppler, the curator of the conference, and an international group of yogis to dive into the practice and study of yoga like never before.

In today's yoga world many foreign yoga practitioners would like to feel connected with an ancient tradition through Yoga. We believe that learning the philosophy of yoga directly from the elders of Mysore can help us come closer to this tradition.

The Yoga of Mysore has been debated about for decades. What is traditional? What isn't? How can we participate in this tradition or Parampara? The compassion, sincerity, academic brilliance, and deep reverence for yoga and all spiritual practice among the scholars of Mysore will leave you stunned. It is truly inspiring and eye opening!

Below: Check out the trailer for the film that set all of this in motion. We are thrilled to see the impact that a film originally intended to simply honor our teacher, in inspiring Western students to go deeper into their practice and understanding of Yoga.

This all-inclusive Retreat and conference will put students face to face with some of the most revered scholars and yoga masters of India. The cost of the retreat includes daily meals, comfortable accommodation, all conference lectures, activities, and yoga classes, all transportation within India, and daily Asana practice with senior Ashtanga instructor Andrew Eppler and his assistants Bryce Delbridge, and Joey Paz. Last but not least, this will be a rare opportunity to study with Sri BNS Iyengar, the last surviving student of Krishnamacharya and the world's most elder living teacher of Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga.

Furthermore, we will be available for timely assistance throughout the entire process of preparing for your journey to India, including assistance with Visas, flights, what to expect, and general questions/concerns about traveling in India.
