    Do you wish to make a stronger commitment to practice or feel called to begin sharing it with others? Our weekend format curriculum offers you the first step toward a deeper practice and yogic lifestyle through a foundational education which may be built upon by taking our full certifying program, an immersion program for practitioners, or individual advanced training module weekends. Continuing Education Hours for registered teachers may also be earned by attending these individual weekends.

A UNIQUE PROGRAM THAT WORKS FOR YOUR LIFESTYLE

We have carefully considered how to structure our curriculum to make deeper learning accessible to people who may not be able to commit the full time or tuition toward a 200 hour weekend program that spans many months, but who could still benefit from more in-depth topic exploration. Our Students will have the opportunity to learn from an expertly coordinated faculty of experienced and diverse Yoga teachers with over 100 years combined teaching experience.

Full Program: Students attending the full program meet about two weekends per month November-May Program will include Friday evenings, and Saturday and Sunday Afternoons. $2650. Early Bird Price $2400 Before Sep 1, 2019

Immersion Option: We have opened 12 of our Weekend Trainings on specific advanced topics to public enrollment for those who simply want the information or for continuing education credit approved through the Yoga Alliance and do not need or want a 200 Hour Certificate. Attend all 12 public workshops for a bundled price and receive CEs. $1500 (save $300)

Individual Modules: Attend any of the individual weekend workshops open to public enrollment for continuing education credit or your own personal interest. Saturday Only - $75  — Saturday and Sunday $150

JESS TRUDEAU lead trainer

Jess celebrates letting the beauty you love be what you do. She is a traveler, adventurer, and creative soul who finds poetry in moving between a celebration of the fine arts and yoga. Her biggest spark of passion lies in teaching others and spreading the vast and complex wisdom of yoga in relatable and comprehensive ways. She enjoys guiding her students toward authentic living, awareness of the intuitive body, and a deep sense of belonging. Her classes and trainings are soaked in yoga’s rich philosophy and paletted history, mindful alignment and thoughtful sequencing, and lit up by her own never ending search for play and creativity. 
She uses yoga as a gateway to better understand ourselves, accept and even celebrate our humanness, and seek out joy in the cracks where the light tries to find us. She reminds us that until we give adequately to ourselves, shedding light into our own souls, can we give with true intention, exist alongside, and inspire others. 

Jess carries 900 hours of advanced certifications from Yogaworks, Laughing Lotus, Heartwood Institute and Blissology. She is Yoga Alliance E-RYT 500 certified with experience leading 300 hour teacher trainings, and leads adventure yoga retreats worldwide. She first began teaching yoga in remote villages in Mongolia 15 years ago and was amazed at yoga‘s universal ability to inspire and heal.

LIZ HEFFERNAN lead trainer

Liz Heffernan, E-RYT 500, C-IAYT is an international yoga teacher and Integrative Yoga Therapist. 

She draws from over two decades of personal yoga practice, 24 years of teaching and extensive training in the Hatha yoga systems of Kripalu, Ashtanga and Anusara.  She currently directs and leads Yoga teacher trainings and workshops in worldwide locations, provides unique one-to-one mentoring for yoga teachers wishing to improve their skills and delivery, instructs daily yoga classes and offers private therapeutic sessions. Additionally, Liz serves as a mentor-faculty member for the Kripalu School of Integrative Yoga Therapy 1000 hour program. Her personal journey with yoga began as a young teenager when through a random, yet auspicious opportunity she took a Yoga course at a nearby college.  Here, in Savasana, she experienced a sense of peace and wellbeing, a feeling that was in profound contrast to her daily expression of herself.  It took fifteen years for the seed that was planted then to germinate into a dedicated practice.  Now, after 25 years of daily Yoga, Liz is humbly grateful to this life-affirming path that consistently realigns her physical body, thoughts and innermost intentions with more joy and a greater vibrancy.

Liz's dynamic teaching style is influenced by many, many wonderful yoga teachers.  These include Ashtanga Yoga’s Shri K. Pattabhi Jois, Tim Miller, Nancy Gilgoff and Bhavani Maki; Anusara Yoga’s Desiree Rumbaugh, Jenny Otto, Noah Maze, and Jim & Ruthie Bernaert; Integrative Yoga Therapy’s Joseph Le Page; and yoga philosophers Ram Das, Douglas Brooks, and Carlos Pomeda.

Liz is known is for her ability to bridge the gap between the ancient perspectives of yoga and contemporary daily life.  Her teaching weaves together philosophy, creative sequencing, clear alignment, mindful breathing, and compassionate self-inquiry to form a tapestry that reflects her heartfelt commitment to this transformative path.

 

JODIE DIMINNO lead trainer

Jodie DiMinno- E-YRT 500 is a yoga instructor, certified massage therapist, and doula, specializing in prenatal and restorative yoga. She spent over 3 years in residence at Kripalu and has a unique perspective on living the Yogic Lifestyle. She brings a sense of fun and inquiry into her classes and sessions, and offers clients a safe space to explore deep states of rest and reflection. In her work as a doula, she offers education about pregnancy and childbirth, and lovingly supports women and their families through these times of immense change.

KELLY O’ROKE Studio Owner

Kelly has been practicing Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga for over 12 years under the compassionate guidance of Andrew Eppler, Bryce Delbridge and Robert Boustany. She has also been heavily influenced by her time studying under Sri BNS Iyengar of Mysore, as well as Ashtanga masters David Williams and Danny Paradise. She turned to yoga in 2007 to cope with stress and anxiety as she earned her Bachelors degree in Engineering Physics— through devoted practice she found healing in many areas of her physical, emotional and mental health. Yoga sparked her curiosity like nothing before. Over the past decade she has passionately studied the philosophy, devoted herself to daily Asana and Pranayama practice and dedicated her life to holding space for these practices, taking over as owner and steward of Om Shala Yoga in June of 2017.  Teaching from a breath-centered approach to systematic vinyasa yoga practice in the lineage of Sri. BNS Iyengar, she believes that yoga is an experiential, shamanistic practice which can be utilized and individualized by anyone to bring greater freedom, healing, and meaning to their lives. 

She strongly believes that the practice of Yoga is contributing in a major way to the healing of the entire world, and that anyone, regardless of background, body type, age or disposition can use this particular method to bring greater peace, well-being and health to their lives and the world. She sees that by getting out of the way, speaking less and guiding practitioners to listen to the breath and their own intuition— that students of all types are able to access the inherent power and potential that lies within each of us. She trusts that each person who enters the practice room with her has something to teach her, and something to teach themselves. She is there to hold a nurturing and supportive space which facilities this self-empowerment, and watches with delight as her students evolve.

She is forever in gratitude to the long lineage of masters who have blessed us all with their insight and compassionate transmission of yogic practices.

JOEY PAZ E-RYT 500

Joey Paz embarked upon his yoga journey in 2008 with Andrew Eppler and Jennifer Engleman at Ashtanga Yoga Studio in Norman, Oklahoma. He went into his first yoga class with Jennifer somewhat skeptical and not knowing what to expect, but by the end of the class, knew he had stumbled upon something profound and life-changing. From that day forward he has continued to pursue and deepen his studies, traveling to Mysore, India on numerous occasions for many months of extensive training and study with his teacher Sri BNS Iyengar, the world's foremost scholar of yoga and top living master in the Ashtanga Vinyasa lineage. 

In addition to his RYT-500 certification from Andrew Eppler of Ashtanga Yoga Studio and the Himalayan Yoga Association of Rishikesh, India, Joey has studied Yogasana, mudra, pranayama, and meditation in-depth with a wide array of yoga luminaries and elders including David Williams, Danny Paradise, Baptiste Marceau, Dominic & Stephanie Corigliano, and Bryce Delbridge; as well as Yogic chanting with Dr. M.A. Jayashree and Narasimhan of Ananta Research Foundation, Kanchen Mala of Krishnamacharr Yoga Shala in Mysore; Sanskrit phonology and pronunciation with Seth Powell of Yogic Studies; and Yoga Darshana with Dr. M.A. Alwar of Maharaja Sanskrit College and his father Dr. Laxmi Tatacher, founder of the Samskrti Foundation in Melukote, India. In addition to his devoted practice, training, and studies, Joey is co-producer of the film, "Mysore Yoga Traditions," a documentary that provides the most in-depth look at the fabric of Yoga culture in Mysore, India, the birthplace of modern yoga, to date. 


Joey is dedicated to preserving and passing on the teachings of Sri BNS Iyengar, the last surviving link to the formative years of Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga in Mysore, the philosophical and postural foundation of the vast majority of yoga practiced around the globe today. He believes this practice has the potential for immense global transformation and should be made accessible to all.

PEGGY PROFANT E-RYT and Certified Anusara Instructor

Peggy Is on a lifelong path of yoga and taking its insightful teachings into all areas of her life. She first discovered the practice in 1980 and began teaching it to others in 1997. Ashtanga, Iyengar and Anusara are the schools in which have influenced her practice. As one who lives courageously from her heart, she passionately teaches her classes with meaningful yogic themes while keeping a keen attention to alignment. In addition to yoga, being in nature and with her family is where she finds her deepest joy and peace. Peggy is the founder and previous owner of Om Shala Yoga in Arcata and has been leading workshops, retreats and trainings since 2003.
