Slow Flow Yin with Crystal

Slow Flow Yin with Crystal

Class description:

Yin yoga is an internal, passive practice with poses held for longer to target deep tissues of the body. The slow, steady hold of yin poses gently stretches the connective tissue while allowing time and space for emotion. The slow flow approach to this class will balance soft movement of the body with deep connection to breath to increase circulation, flexibility, and joint mobility as well as reduce stress. This gentle style activates the parasympathetic nervous system which allows for healing and recovery, suitable for beginners and all levels.

About the Instructor:

The first yoga class I took was a yin class six years ago. From the release of emotions I experienced during that class I immediately knew that it changed the trajectory of my life. My practice in yoga quickly evolved from my interest in maintaining flexibility and improving physical postures as my awareness of how I was treating myself, thinking of and communicating with myself and the universe began to illuminate the answer to why I practice yoga. Today, I believe yoga to be a practice of connection and presence in each moment.

I completed my 200 hour teacher training as well as my 300 hour teacher training in holistic psychology and intuitive wisdom with School Yoga Institute in MalPaís, Costa Rica. The style of my 500 hours of training were primarily in vinyasa and hatha lineages with deep soul exploration through the examination of the Peruvian Shamanic Medicine Wheel. My interest in mind-body-spirit connection has led me to pursue a master’s degree at Cal Poly Humboldt in kinesiology concentrating in exercise science and health promotion with a thesis project in community connections through practice of yoga. As a yoga teacher my values in holding space are to allow each being to be and feel authentic to themselves in each moment. I hope to inspire each being to follow their own true path as we are all on our own paths together. May all beings feel that they can practice yoga in community. May all beings be happy and free.
