Safe Adaptations for Pregnancy in All-Levels Classes

Safe Adaptations for Pregnancy in All-Levels Classes

Lead Trainer: Jodie DiMinno

February 8-9

Saturday and Sunday 1-5pm

Please Note: Full Program Participants meet for an additional session Friday evenings 5:30-8:30pm—these special Friday sessions are not open to public enrollment unless specified in the description.

A pregnant yogi may be able to continue her regular yoga practice throughout most of her pregnancy, but important accommodations need to be made to account for the many physiological changes that take place during this special time. Learn to accommodate students at all stages of pregnancy in your general population classes! Together we'll study the basic anatomy of pregnancy, and discuss common discomforts associated with each stage. We'll lead one another in safe expressions of traditional poses, and learn how to skillfully and safely guide a pregnant student in a class that is not specifically designed for pregnancy. Yoga teachers at any level of practice are welcome to join us, as well as expecting yogis with a minimum of one year of yoga experience. Please Note: This is not a Prenatal Yoga Certification Course.

Note: Friday Evening Session for Full Program participants will cover experiential anatomy through ball rolling.
