This lighthearted, alignment focused class invites students to experience joy on a physical level. With plenty of opportunities to modify, play and experiment, this is a great class for folks with injuries, ailments, beginners, or those seeking to try advanced asanas in a safe environment. Expect to use yoga props and/or the support of the wall to assist you with a variety of standing and seated postures, plus a short meditation. Come as you are — all bodies welcome!

About the instructor:

Hi, I'm Annie (they/them)! My intention as an instructor is to provide practical ways of how to make yoga part of everyday life, rather than just something you “do” when you are at the studio. My Hatha-based (and Iyengar inspired) classes are appropriate for students healing from injuries, beginners, or long-time students looking to be re-inspired by the roots of their practice. I empower my fellow LGBTQ+ community to take up space, and I’m passionate about recontextualizing yoga so that modern practitioners understand it’s a practice that is truly for every body. I ask people to look at yoga as not only a practice of individual healing, but a practical philosophy for liberating all of humanity. Ultimately, I believe when we take better care of ourselves we are taking better care of the planet.
