About Bri:

I began practicing yoga as a teen and completed my 200 hr & 500hr YTT through School Yoga Institute in Lake Atitlan, Guatemala in 2012/2013. I’m trained in a Sivananda style Hatha and Ashtanga style Vinyasa yoga, with additional certifications and trainings in Restorative, Prenatal, Yin , Yoga for PTSD and Yoga Nidra. My practice is trauma informed and centered on equity, inclusion and community healing. I enjoy weaving together guided imagery, poetry, yogic philosophy, somatic awareness, breath-work and connection to nature into my classes. I consider myself a Bhakti yogi and have spent time in Kerala India studying Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras and the Bhagavad Gita at Amma’s Ashram. From 2014-2016 I worked for Sadhana Yoga School co-leading immersive YTT courses in Bali , New Hampshire and Costa Rica. I lived in Portland Oregon for several years and taught at several studios there and volunteered for Living Yoga, a non-profit organization, teaching trauma informed yoga in residential facilities, prisons and community health clinics. I’m a certified EcoTherapist and work as a professional mental health counselor (APCC) here in Humboldt. My aim as a yoga teacher is to meet each student exactly where they are at and provide accessible tools and resources to help students deepen into their practice and connect with their community .
