The slow pace and pauses between poses allow the body to fully absorb the energy of each asana. Positive affirmations for each pose help elevate the spirit and refresh the mind. Helen Stone discovered yoga late in life and never looked back. After a professional career, she became a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) in 2019 at Ananda School of Yoga and Meditation in Nevada City, CA, and shared her love of breath and movement with students at Hayfork Yoga Center in Northern California. Ananda-style yoga uses body alignment, mindfulness and positive affirmations to create a gentle practice that anyone can enjoy. Helen recently earned certification as a Yoga for Cancer (y4c) instructor, focusing on gentle practices for patients and survivors. She especially enjoys introducing beginners to the benefits and joy of yoga.
